Relationship Therapy
A pathway to deeper connection and understanding
Helen Crocombe - Relationship Therapist for couples and individuals (MBACP)
I am a psychodynamic couple and individual psychotherapist who has worked with people from all backgrounds and at different stages of life to build stronger and more fulfilling relationships with their partners and families.
I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards positive changes in your relationship. I work collaboratively with you at your pace, walking alongside you, trying to help you build deeper and warmer connections with your partner.
I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Couples and Individuals Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the internationally renowned training and research institution, Tavistock Relationships and Birkbeck University. I see clients there as a visiting clinician and assessor, and in my private practice in North West London and online. I am a registered member of MBACP and Tavistock Relationships Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors.
Relationship counselling and psychotherapy for couples and individuals
My approach to relationship counselling is grounded in psychodynamic principles, which means we’ll explore the unhelpful patterns and beliefs that may be shaping the way you connect with your partner. Whether you're facing difficulties with communication, conflict, anxiety, the aftermath of an affair, or adjusting to having your first baby, sexual problems, or other relational challenges, I can help you gain insight into your behaviours and relating patterns.
Together, we’ll work towards gaining a deeper understanding of your partnership and explore ways to build a more satisfying and meaningful connection with each other.
Couple Therapy
We can all experience difficulties in our relationships from time to time. I work with couples to think about:
- Communication problems
- Feeling stuck in conflicts, misunderstandings, or repetitive arguments
- The aftermath of an affair
- Emotional distance or disconnection
- Intimacy and sexual difficulties
- Parenting challenges
- Coping with grief, loss, or trauma as a couple
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy provides a dedicated space for you to explore your personal difficulties with relationships, gain self-awareness, and address behaviours, and patterns that may be holding you back. I work with individuals to:
- Explore problems, emotions, and past traumatic experiences
- Encourages greater self-awareness and insight into the root causes of distress
- Support change by helping you understand how past experiences influence present behaviour
- Work towards more emotional resilience
